The Art of Paper Cutting

The Art of Paper Cutting

SKU: 4050

This class will introduce students to basic paper-cutting techniques using the Polish Folk Art of Wycinanki for inspiration. Wycinanki is a stylized art form with agricultural roots, inspired by nature, and is characterized by wild and rich color, pattern, and often symmetry.

The first two projects will be smaller and more structured using nature and the winter season for inspiration, while learning necessary folding, cutting, gluing, and transfer techniques.  In the final project, students will use their newly acquired paper-cutting techniques and nature elements to create a beautiful and colorful paper-cut.
