Beginner-Advanced Oil Painting
Join this class to either begin oil painting for the first time, or to continue your investigations in this wonderful medium. Emphasis will be placed on creating solid compositions, observing the unique characteristics of a form, and mixing rich, sensitive colors. You will have the opportunity to work both from life and from photos, covering subject matter including still life, landscape, interiors, and portraiture. Class will consist of demonstrations and one-on-one instruction insuring that students may work at their own level and pace. We will pursue projects that span over a number of weeks, as well as shorter exercises such as alla prima sketches, simple drawing problems, and color studies to sharpen observational skills.
